1. Related policies
This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and share personal data.
Our Terms of Service explain the rules for using Shovva, including creator profiles, paid plans, payments, bookings, products, events, digital downloads, tips, donations and other platform features.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website.
They can help a website remember your device, keep you signed in, protect your account, save your preferences, process payments, understand how the website is used, or measure marketing performance.
Cookies may be:
- session cookies, which usually expire when you close your browser;
- persistent cookies, which stay on your device for a set period or until you delete them;
- first-party cookies, which are set by Shovva; or
- third-party cookies, which are set by another provider, such as a payment, analytics, advertising, video, music, security or embed provider.
When this policy says “cookies”, it also includes similar technologies such as pixels, tags, scripts, SDKs, local storage and device identifiers where they are used for similar purposes.
3. How we use cookies
Shovva may use cookies and similar technologies to:
- make the website, dashboard, login, registration and creator profiles work;
- keep users signed in and protect accounts;
- remember cookie choices and basic preferences;
- provide security, fraud prevention, bot protection and load balancing;
- support Stripe payments, checkout flows, customer hubs, receipts and payment security;
- understand how visitors use Shovva, where analytics cookies are enabled;
- measure paid advertising or conversion performance, where marketing cookies are enabled;
- load approved embeds, media players, social widgets, maps, calendars or third-party tools;
- improve performance, reliability and user experience.
4. Strictly necessary cookies
Strictly necessary cookies are required for Shovva to work properly.
These may be used for login, authentication, account security, dashboard access, session management, checkout, payment security, cookie preference storage, fraud prevention, load balancing, error prevention and basic website operation.
You cannot turn off strictly necessary cookies through our cookie banner because the platform needs them to function.
You can block them in your browser settings, but parts of Shovva may not work correctly if you do.
Examples may include cookies or similar technologies used for:
- keeping you signed in;
- remembering that you accepted or rejected optional cookies;
- protecting forms and checkout flows;
- helping Stripe process payments securely;
- helping Cloudflare or similar services protect and deliver the website;
- supporting WordPress, security tools, login pages and dashboard sessions.
5. Preference and functionality cookies
Preference or functionality cookies help remember choices you make on Shovva.
These may include display preferences, cookie settings, account settings, dashboard choices, theme choices, language or region choices, and other settings that make Shovva easier to use.
Some preference cookies may be necessary where they are required to provide a feature you request. Others may only be used where enabled or where the law allows.
6. Analytics cookies
Analytics cookies help us understand how Shovva is used.
They may help us see things such as which pages are visited, which features are used, which links are clicked, how visitors move around the site, which pages are slow, and whether marketing or product changes are working.
Where analytics cookies are not strictly necessary, we only use them where they are enabled and, where required, you have agreed to them.
Analytics information may be aggregated or anonymised where possible. We do not use analytics cookies to sell your personal data.
Examples may include Shovva’s own analytics tools or third-party analytics tools such as Google Analytics if enabled.
7. Marketing and conversion cookies
Marketing and conversion cookies help us measure paid campaigns and understand whether our advertising is working.
These cookies may be used to measure visits, sign-ups, conversions, campaign performance, retargeting audiences or similar advertising activity.
Marketing cookies are optional and should be off by default unless you choose to accept them or they are otherwise lawfully enabled.
Examples may include conversion pixels or tags from providers such as Meta, Google or TikTok if we use them.
We do not allow marketing cookies to be used in a way that removes your legal rights or avoids consent requirements.
8. Third-party cookies and embeds
Shovva may allow approved third-party services, integrations or embeds.
These may include payment tools, video players, music players, social media widgets, analytics tools, advertising pixels, maps, calendars, booking tools, forms, captcha tools, security tools or other services.
Third-party providers may set their own cookies or collect information when their services are loaded or used.
Examples may include Stripe, Google, Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud, Apple Music, Calendly, Cloudflare or similar providers, depending on the features used on a page.
Third-party services are controlled by their own providers. Their own privacy and cookie policies may also apply.
Creators are responsible for making sure any third-party embeds, pixels, links, widgets or tools they add to their Shovva profile are lawful and appropriate for their audience.
Shovva may block, remove or restrict third-party scripts, embeds, pixels or tracking tools where we believe they create legal, privacy, security, performance or user-trust risk.
9. Cookies on creator profiles
Creator profiles on Shovva may include links, media, embeds, products, bookings, events, tickets, digital downloads, tips, donations, lead forms, analytics, customer hubs and other features.
Some creator profile features may use cookies or similar technologies.
Creators must not add tracking tools, pixels, scripts, embeds or third-party services to their Shovva profile in a way that breaches privacy, cookie, marketing, advertising, payment-provider or data protection laws.
Where consent is legally required for analytics, advertising pixels, tracking tools, third-party embeds or similar technologies, that consent must be obtained before the relevant technology is used.
10. Payment and checkout cookies
When you use Shovva payment, checkout, subscription, billing, donation, tip, booking, product, event, ticket, digital download or customer hub features, Stripe or another payment provider may use cookies or similar technologies.
These may be used for checkout, fraud prevention, payment security, identity checks, payment completion, dispute prevention, subscription management and payment-provider compliance.
Stripe and any other payment provider may process information under their own privacy and cookie policies.
Shovva does not store full card numbers.
11. Managing your cookie choices
You can manage cookie choices through the cookie banner or the cookie settings link on Shovva where available.
Our cookie controls may allow you to:
- accept all optional cookies;
- reject optional cookies;

12. Browser controls
Most browsers let you view, delete or block cookies.
You can usually manage cookies in your browser settings under privacy, security or site settings.
